I never heard of a matte lipstick from a local brand Nichido. Surprisingly one of my patients gave this to me. (Of course brand new and sealed) I was really happy and excited since It is my first ever nichido product.

Out of curiosity I passed by in nichido stall at SM Makati to checkout their products. And yes they have wide shades of matte to sheer lipstick at a very affordable price.

Price: P188.00.

Packaging: It doesn’t come with a box. Just a sheer tube made of plastic with a silver lining on the middle of the bullet. There is accentuated design of sunflower around the cap which also contains a lip balm on top.

Nothing special. Plus the bullet has a tendency to break easily.

12029182_10203740300988481_2078119550_nShade: Temptation – somewhat deep red with a blue undertone. Great to those fair skin.

Amount of Product: 3.7g

Texture & Formula: I like that it glides on smoothly during application. Non sticky and very pigmented, one swipe is enough to last all day.

It doesn’t come off easily and actually leaves a stain even few hours of not re-applying. If you eat heavy meals, like any other matte lipstick it fades off on the inner part. The formula is very close to Everbilena and Fashion21 Matte lipstick, although Everbilena is more moisturizing. Nichido lipstick is quite hard to blend minutes after you applied it. So I highly suggest you put a lip balm underneath to avoid drying or having tacky lips since this is a real matte. I don’t know why it seems to have a powder finish which can emphasize dryness and settle into lines.

Longevity: The pigmentation lasted 3 hours and only fades on the inner part because I drink water from time to time. After my lunch break I only see the stain that stays on my lips which lasted for 1 hour since I tried not to re-apply. Pero ang pangit ng tignan kasi patchy na ung lips ko so I had to retouch and it lasted 2 hours without eating/drinking. Di talaga ko uminom muna at kumain ng snack just to test the pigmentation.

Overall, I like that it is made locally and very affordable. I highly suggest using a lip balm first before applying the lipstick.
